About Dr. Ahmed
A physician in Sharm El-Sheikh with one foot in the clinic and one in public health — which is exactly the combination a resort city needs.
I'm Ahmed Ali Omar, a physician based in Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai. I trained at Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Ainy, graduating in 2016, and since then my work has followed two threads that keep meeting in the middle: caring for individual patients, and protecting the health of the whole city.
On the clinical side I practise internal medicine and family medicine, with a special interest in travel medicine and clinical nutrition. Most of the people I see are visitors — on holiday, working the season, or passing through on a dive trip — and a good share are residents who want a doctor they can come back to. I founded NewCare Clinics, a tourist and travel medicine polyclinic network, to give both groups care that is straightforward, well-documented and easy to coordinate with insurers.
On the public health side I direct the Sharm El-Sheikh Health Office under the South Sinai Health Directorate. That work covers inspection, vaccination campaigns, vital registration and the practical epidemiology of a city that hosts hundreds of thousands of guests a year. It also shapes how I practise: I see the patterns behind individual cases, and I know which problems are common here and which are not.
How I work
I try to be the kind of doctor I'd want if I fell ill abroad. That means listening first, explaining plainly, writing reports that another doctor or an insurer can actually use, and being honest when something is outside my scope and needs a specialist or a hospital. Consultations are in English or Arabic, at the clinic, at your hotel, or by video.
